Seems that our "veteran" rappers are finally fed-up with the state of today's hip hop music and they all vent on Eminem's new track "Syllables." On his latest single, Eminem attacks the state of youth driven hip hop consumerism saying:
“It is not about lyrics anymore. It’s about a hot beat and a catchy hook.”
Then Jay-Z and Dre both co-sign that they all have to “dumb down” their music for the kids who control the market. Then they all make fun of today’s hook-driven rap landscape on the song’s intentionally mind-numbingly hook: “Shorty I love you/And you love me too/We were meant to be ’cause shorty you love me/And I love you too/And I promise I’ll be true to you.”
